New RedmiBooks are coming soon with processors AMD Ryzen 4th generation: according to the first information from Chinese retailers, the line-up should include at least three models, namely RedmiBook 13, RedmiBook 14S and RedmiBook 16. Some technical details of two models have been discovered on the Net, but for now it has not been possible to associate them reliably to official names.
What we know can be summarized in just a few lines, unfortunately. The codes are TIMI TM1951 and TIMI TM1953. Both mount 16 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM and 512 GB Samsung SSD (PM881). The processors are, respectively, the Ryzen R5 4500U and the Ryzen R7 4700U.
Still according to Chinese retailers, laptops will be available for purchase starting next Tuesday, May 26: It is reasonable to assume that the presentation will take place just before. For the moment there is no information on prices, which in any case we expect competitive given the previous Chinese company.
The Ryzen chips in question were unveiled earlier this year, at CES 2020. Ryzen 5 4500U is a six-core, six-thread chip, with a 15 W TDP and an integrated 6-core Radeon GPU. Ryzen 7 4700U is more prestigious: it has 8 cores and 8 threads, and 7-core GPU. The TDP remains the same.
