Roskomnadzor asked Ivi for information about a possible leak of customer data

MOSCOW, 31 Aug — PRIME. Roskomnadzor asked the Ivi online cinema for information about a possible leak of personal data of the company’s customers, RIA Novosti was told in the department.

Earlier, information about the leakage of data from users of the Ivi online cinema, including bank card data, appeared in Telegram channels. The company, in turn, told the agency that information about the allegedly leaked user database has nothing to do with the Ivi service.

“Roskomnadzor sent a request to the administration of the Ivi online cinema demanding to provide detailed information about a possible leak of personal data of the company’s customers,” the statement says.

The agency also recalled that from September 1, 2022, amendments to the law “On Personal Data” come into force, according to which the operator who leaked data will be obliged to independently report the incident to Roskomnadzor within 24 hours, and within 72 hours to provide department the results of an internal investigation indicating the cause and perpetrators.
