MOSCOW, September 13 – PRIME. Rosseti FGC UES modernized emergency control at the 220 kV Zapadno-Sibirskaya substation in Novokuznetsk, which made it possible to increase the volume of technological connection to the networks of a new oxygen plant to 80 MW, which produces air separation products for the needs of metallurgy, the chemical industry, and mechanical engineering The project also provides for the production of medical oxygen for Kuzbass hospitals.
The substation is equipped with Russian devices for transmission of emergency signals and commands (UPASK) on a microprocessor base, which are distinguished by high efficiency and speed. The equipment guarantees reliable transmission and reception of control commands in any operating mode of the power system.
It is noted that the new oxygen plant was put into operation in 2021, it was implemented at the industrial site of the EVRAZ ZSMK metallurgical plant.
Air separation products are used in metallurgical production. In addition, nitrogen, oxygen and argon are supplied to enterprises in other industries. Modern technologies can significantly reduce emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere.
The power of the 220 kV Zapadno-Sibirskaya substation is 490 MVA, it feeds not only the metallurgical plant, but the entire Zavodskoy district of Novokuznetsk (population – about 95,000 people), as well as five coal mines in the south of Kuzbass.
