Russia has developed a system for blocking phishing sites

MOSCOW, Sep 23 — PRIME. The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, with the participation of the Bank of Russia and Roskomnadzor, has developed a system for blocking phishing sites, the blocking process takes from 3 to 24 hours, said Igor Krasnov, head of the supervisory agency.

“In order to stop attempts to illegally use Internet resources with financial information – for example, phishing sites, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has developed a system for blocking them, which also involves the Bank of Russia and Roskomnadzor … The entire blocking process takes from 3 to 24 hours, and the interaction mechanism is carried out in in electronic form using special software. This approach allowed us to multiply the efficiency of this work,” Krasnov said at a meeting with colleagues from the SCO countries in Astana.

Previously, Kaspersky Lab conducted a study and found that a third of phishing pages on the Internet cease to exist within a day, and many of them already in the first hours. It is at the very beginning of the life of a fake page that attackers actively distribute phishing links – it is important for them to do this before the resource is detected and entered into special anti-phishing databases, the company noted.
