Patrushev: US provides data to Kyiv for the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

KEMEROVO, Sep 12 — PRIME. Data on the location of critical facilities of the Zaporizhzhya NPP is provided to Ukraine by the United States, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said on Monday as part of a meeting on ensuring national security in the Siberian Federal District.

“A serious threat to radiation safety is the shelling by Ukrainian nationalists of critical facilities of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant from heavy weapons supplied by NATO countries, target designation of which is carried out by the United States,” he said.

“The consequences of these provocations can be very catastrophic not only for the majority of the population of Ukraine and Russia, but also for Europe, and in terms of their scale they can surpass the tragedies that happened at the nuclear power plants in Chernobyl and Fukushima,” the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia also warned.
