Russia will create a new platform for contactless payments
MOSCOW, Sep 22 — PRIME. The National Payment Card System (NSPK) is working on a new platform for contactless payments using a QR code, which will also be available for Apple devices, said Vladimir Komlev, CEO of NSPK, operator of the Mir payment system.

“This is a QR payment platform. If there is no plastic … then it is possible to generate a card in the form of a QR and pay with an iPhone through scanning – this is one of the possibilities, which, I hope, will also appear in the near future,” he said during the XIX International Banking Forum ” Banks of Russia – XXI century”.
In general, the use of a QR code for making payments is not new for the Russian market. For example, it can be used to pay for goods and services in the Fast Payment System.
