MOSCOW, 20 Sep — PRIME. Electronic SIM cards of mobile operators Beeline, Megafon and Tele2 work in the new iPhone14 model, restrictions are not fixed, the operators told RIA Novosti.
Earlier on Tuesday, a message appeared in Telegram channels that the first owners of the iPhone 14 in Russia complain that American smartphones do not work with Russian mobile operators. It was clarified that the latest generation iPhones imported from the US to Russia do not work in the networks of Russian telecom operators, with the exception of Tele2.
In response to a request about possible complaints from subscribers, the press service of VimpelCom told the agency that “Beeline’s eSIMs work on new iPhones.”
A similar answer was given in Tele2. They also noted that the operator’s customers have no problems with eSIM activation on the new iPhone model. As emphasized in the press service, the mobile operator has a GSMA certificate for independent generation of profiles for eSIM. “The share of eSIM devices in the Tele2 network at the beginning of 2021 was about 3%. Now it has doubled and exceeds 6%. Recall that Tele2 was the first on the market to launch a pilot project to introduce eSIM on its network in April 2019,” — emphasized in the company.
“iPhone 14 works in our network. There are no restrictions for subscribers,” the press service of Megafon noted.
RIA Novosti also sent a request to MTS.
Apple on September 7 introduced the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus with a larger screen. Phones will be available in five colors, they are equipped with screens of 6.1 and 6.7 inches. The start of sales of standard versions in America is scheduled for September 16, Pro – from October 7. Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told RIA Novosti that the new iPhone 14 will be delivered to Russia through parallel imports.
