Turkey plans first deliveries of Black Sea gas to land
ANKARA, Sep 20 – PRIME. Work on delivering gas from the Black Sea to land will be completed in November, and the first deliveries are expected in March next year, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said.
“As we have stated earlier, we plan to implement the first gas flow in March, in the first quarter of 2023, in the year of the 100th anniversary of our Republic,” he said.
According to the minister, now the pipelines have already been laid by 70%.
As previously reported by the Sabah newspaper, Turkey is investing about ten billion dollars in a project to extract and transport gas from the Sakarya field in the Black Sea. According to plans, the first deliveries from the field will take place next year. According to Donmez, the cost of gas discovered in the sea is $400 billion, and the expected production volumes are 540 billion cubic meters.
