Sapphire unveils the Nitro RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56

On August 14, it was time for AMD’s latest performance circuit Vega to enter the scene. The graphics card meant the company’s return to the enthusiast class, and offered high performance at the price of high power consumption. Shortly after launch, partner manufacturers would launch their cards, something that would later be delayed.

The AMD-exclusive Sapphire model series Nitro + is now unveiled for the Radeon RX Vega 64 and 56. The card has previously been found on the web, but is now being launched sharply by the company. The main attraction is a large cooler, along with a custom circuit board and three 8-pin PCI Express connectors.

The cooling solution consists of Sapphire’s latest incarnation of the Nitro + series. This steam chamber cooler is equipped with a total of three fans, two 92 mm and one of 80 mm. In line with recent graphics cards, these are semi-passive, and only start spinning at a temperature of 56 ° C.

The solid cooler allows the card to measure in at 310 × 133 × 54 mm and takes up 2.5 expansion slots, while the weight lands at 1.6 kg. Included also makes a bracket to be able to support the weight of the card. It is worth mentioning that defective fans can easily be replaced with the help of Sapphire’s quick mounts.

Both RX Vega 64 and 56 are equipped with the same cooler solution, which means that the differences lie in the clock frequencies and the number of stream processors. Here, the RX Vega 64 offers 4,096 stream processors, a base frequency of 1,423 MHz, and a turbo frequency of 1,611 MHz. Little brother Vega 56 is instead equipped with 3,584 stream processors, a base frequency of 1,305 MHz, and a turbo frequency of 1,572 MHz. The cards’ 8 GB HBM2 memory is left untouched at 945 and 800 MHz respectively.

Finally, the models are equipped with adjustable RGB lighting and an LED-illuminated cover plate. Power is provided in 14 phases, and in terms of picture outputs, two HDMI 2.0b and two Displayport 1.4 are available.

Sapphire Nitro + RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 are said to be available in stores today. Prices land at SEK 7,599 for the top model RX Vega 64, and SEK 6,299 for RX Vega 56.
