Serbia announced the preservation of all gas projects with Russia

MOSCOW, Sep 22 — PRIME. All joint projects with Russia, including the construction of a gas pipeline in the Republika Srpska, will be continued, Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik said in an interview with RIA Novosti following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“President Putin is a great friend of the Serbian people, as well as of all other peoples, so we always pay special attention to our meetings. Of course, energy was in the first place. We came to the conclusion that all our projects, including gas and construction gas pipeline and thermal power plants in the Republika Srpska (will be continued) in cooperation with the Zarubezhneft company, which already has an oil refinery in the Republika Srpska,” the politician said.

He stressed that cooperation with Russia in the gas sector is progressing well and should only be continued and improved.

“The Republika Srpska is reliably supplied with energy sources from Russia. We are not the largest consumer, but nevertheless an important one,” Dodik added.

Gas company GAS-RES, owned by the government of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from June 1, extended the contract for the supply of natural gas with Gazprom. The head of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic noted that the official Banja Luka is fully satisfied with the agreements on the price of gas and the dynamics of supplies. He noted that the price is “about $290 per thousand cubic meters or slightly higher” and that it will be adjusted every quarter.

The average annual consumption of natural gas by the Republika Srpska, according to the Ministry of Energy, has been about 50 million cubic meters in recent years.
