BERLIN, Sep 2 – PRIME. At present, Siemens Energy does not have a contract for repair work at Nord Stream, but the company is ready for them, its representative told RIA Novosti.
On Friday, Gazprom said that it had received a warning from Rostekhnadzor about a malfunction of the only remaining working engine for the pipeline, and the pipeline was completely stopped until the comments were eliminated.
“Currently, Siemens Energy does not have a contract for repairs, but it is ready for them,” – said the source of the agency, answering the question whether his company will take part in the elimination of technical problems.
Siemens Energy, however, believes that Gazprom’s conclusion is not a technical reason for terminating the operation of Nord Stream.
“As a turbine manufacturer, we can only state that such a conclusion is not a technical reason for stopping operation. Such leaks usually do not affect the operation of the turbine and can be repaired on site. This is a routine maintenance procedure. In the past, the occurrence such leaks also did not lead to a stop in production,” a company spokesman said.
At the same time, according to the interlocutor, the company believes that there are enough additional turbines at the Portovaya compressor station for the operation of Nord Stream 1.
