Slovakia called on the EC to take into account the interests of the entire European Union in the decision on gas

PRAGUE, 7 Oct – PRIME. The decision on gas prices, which will be prepared by the European Commission, must take into account the interests of each EU member state, so that there are no losers, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger said on Friday before the start of an informal EU summit in Prague.

“The responsibility that now rests on the EU is very high, the whole of Europe is waiting for the ‘gas bubble’ to burst. It is important to limit gas prices. The ceiling should be set in such a way that it does not scare off suppliers, but at the same time is accessible to everyone European countries. At the same time, the decision presented by the European Commission should take into account the interests of each country. It is important that no one is a loser,” Heger said.

On Friday, Prague hosts an informal EU summit. As the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, which presides over the EU until the end of this year, Petr Fiala, said before the meeting, the meeting will be dominated by two main topics – assistance to Ukraine, as well as solving energy problems.
