Taiwanese manufacturers to build new lines for the automotive industry

Over the past year, many manufacturers suffered from the shortage of various components, but only the automotive market players had the administrative resources to raise the relevant topic at the government level, after which the Taiwan authorities had to work out the issue of combating the shortage of automotive components with local contract manufacturers. As noted DigiTimes, the latter are ready to expand production capacities for the needs of the global automotive industry, but they will be put into operation no earlier than the third quarter.

Six months is the minimum period for the construction of new production lines, their technological equipment and the start of work. For now, automakers will have to rely on optimizing the existing capabilities of Taiwanese manufacturers, but this reserve will not provide a significant increase in production volumes. In the current half of the year, the problem of the shortage of auto components cannot be solved.
