Test – In Win 805 Type-C Black: Specs | Price | CPU | Profitability | Hashrate | best Coins | Config | Advantage (Pros) and Disadvantages (Cons) and other important features that will help you make better decision.

After the tests of the 901, 904 and 707 from In Win which combine elegance and quality of manufacture I will today tackle the newcomer I named the 805! In Win clearly does not like to be classic and always offers cases more atypical than the others, this does not change with the case of today’s test which combines aluminum and tempered glass and has a look which will not leave anyone indifferent, sober but refined and with some well-placed lights. Different versions are available, a standard version (with USB 3.0 on the front and without illuminated logo) and a Type-C version (with USB 3.0 and Type-C as well as the illuminated logo), these two available in 3 colors (yellow, red and black), it is the Type-C version in black that I will present to you today.

Offered at a price of around 160 € it is not cheap, but it is generally the price of a case made of high-end materials as well as an excellent finish, let’s see what the beast has in The belly!

The In Win 805 is therefore a case compatible with motherboards up to ATX format (Micro ATX and Mini ITX included of course), the dimensions are rather reasonable with 47.6 cm high, 45.5 cm deep and 20.5 cm wide for a weight of 6.8 kg, In Win therefore offers a compact and light case much less imposing than the other cases of the brand that I had the opportunity to test. Despite its compactness, the graphics card is not stranded with a maximum length of 32 cm, which should accommodate all the cards sold on the market, as for the processor cooler it will have to be content with a maximum of 15.6 cm. height which will limit the options, point of No

ctua NH-D15 or even be quiet! Dark Rock 3 pro in this little 805!
The cooling capacity is very classic, with the possibility of installing 2 fans of 12 or 14 cm on the front, 2 fans of 12 cm below as well as a 12 cm fan at the back, unfortunately only one fan is supplied, at the rear and in 12 cm, which should logically strongly impact the performance of the beast.
The storage capacity is quite good, with the presence of a 3.5 ″ hard drive cage (2 slots) as well as a total of 4 slots for 2.5 ″ devices (1 above the drive cage and 2 at the back of the motherboard). It will be necessary to forget the possible peripherals 5.25 ″, of the old history with this 805!

Of course, a dust filter is present below in order to limit the presence of dust inside the tower as much as possible. In Win added some little extras to the 80, namely a luminous logo on the side of the case (only for the Type-C version) and a removable plate inside to facilitate the installation of the fans.
Offered at a price of around 160 € we will pay for the high-end materials, the finish as well as the look rather than the pure performance of the 805.

In_Win_805_box1

The box could not be more classic, made of cardboard everything that is more banal and sober, no pompous marketing on the horizon! We find only the name of the brand and the logo on the face allowing the opening.

In_Win_805_box2

We still learn the model of the case that we buy on the side, with a quick listing of the different strengths of the beast, namely the presence of a USB 3.1 Type-C port, the tempered glass panels, the aluminum frame, assembly only with hand screws, a power supply of up to 22 cm etc.

In_Win_805_box3

When opening the box as usual In Win takes good care of its product, each corner is equipped with a thick foam mold to keep the animal in place while effectively protecting it from shocks. In addition, the case is packed in its black bag thus avoiding any potential scratch.

In_Win_805_bundle

The bundle consists of:

  • 1 x installation manual
  • 1 x cloth for cleaning tempered glass panels
  • 1 x large handle of cable ties
  • 5v cable clamp stickers
  • The necessary screws packed in individual bags

As usual at In Win the bundle is neat, in addition to the cloth to remove any fingerprints on the tempered glass (and there will be some!) There is a large wrist of cable ties as well as cable clips to be installed in the tower and of course the necessary screws, all screws are individually packaged so as not to make mistakes during assembly, which is always a good thing.

In_Win_805_bonus

A bonus is present in my test copy (and has a sticker on the box, so maybe standard?), A support for a helmet equipped with a suction cup that can be installed on one side of the case, or elsewhere according to your needs! A nice little bonus knowing that it is sold for € 15 per unit.

In_Win_805

In_Win_805_exterieur_connectique

The front connector is very well supplied, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 3.5mm jack connectors, 1 USB 3.0 port as well as the USB 3.1 Type-C port. The In Win 805 will clearly not disappoint at this level.

In_Win_805_exterieur_cote1

On the sides the panels are made of a smoked tempered glass plate fixed by 4 hand screws, a warning is present warning users to be careful when handling, the tempered glass is fragile!

In_Win_805_exterieur_logo

On the front side is the brand logo, which will light up white once the configuration is turned on.

In_Win_805_exterieur_dessus

The top is as you can see very sober and made of a brushed aluminum plate of the most beautiful effect, the quality of manufacture is a priority for the brand!

In_Win_805_exterieur_dessous

Below we can see that the case rests on 4 small rubber pads which are there to dampen any vibrations of the tower as much as possible. A magnetic and therefore removable filter is also present in front of the 2 locations for the optional fans. Everything exudes quality once again here, even the filter!

In_Win_805_exterieur_arriere

At the back, everything could not be more classic, a honeycomb grille behind the fan, and that’s it! The brackets are of very good quality but not openwork, and there are no vents other than that of the fan. Should I add again that the build quality is at the top here?

In_Win_805_interieur

Here is the interior of the beast! As we can see everything is rather simple in there, openings are present everywhere to pass the cables in the back and to keep the whole as clean as possible. The cables from the front are all sheathed in black so as not to distort the whole.

In_Win_805_interieur_storage

A small cage for two 3.5 ″ hard disks is present at the bottom right, the carriages are of course removable and can be inserted without difficulty. Above the cage a slot for a 2.5 ″ device is available, it will suffice to remove the thumbscrew, install the SSD / hard drive and put it back in place. Note that the assembly can be removed to be installed on the front plate of the fans, if the need arises.

In_Win_805_interieur_charriot_3_25

The 3.5 ″ disc is installed in the trolley provided for this purpose, without screws, 4 rubber pads are present in order to attenuate vibrations as much as possible.

In_Win_805_interieur_alimentation

The power supply will be installed with the fan facing upwards, in fact there is no ventilation at the bottom of the box so there is no choice! A small sticker is present to remind you, in case you feel like it!

In_Win_805_interieur_equerres

A total of 8 brackets are installed, no hand screws here however, you will have to use the screwdriver! The quality of the brackets is once again excellent, but they are not perforated and therefore will not let out the area of the case.

In_Win_805_interieur_plantation_ventilateurs1

At the front are 2 locations for 12 or 14 cm fans, the air will be able to circulate freely because there is no restrictive grid, which is a very good point, it is also possible to remove this plate to facilitate installation:

In_Win_805_interieur_plantation_ventilateurs2

In Win had the good idea to demarcate all the holes for an easier installation, whether it is 12 cm or 14 cm fans or even the hard disk cage, everything is there so as not to be mistaken!

In_Win_805_interieur_ventilateur

The fan installed on the back is transparent and equipped with a white LED. The model is a DFS122512L given to consume a maximum of 2.2 Watts.

In_Win_805_interieur_cables

All cables coming from the front are black, braided or black plastic, the lengths will accommodate all motherboards without the slightest problem.

In_Win_805_interieur_arriere

At the rear in addition to the holes for passing the cables that are logically found at the front In Win has installed no less than 3 removable plates for 2.5 ″ peripherals, 3 SSDs can therefore be installed without problems.

In_Win_805_interieur_arriere_ssd1

The installation will be done in the same way as the plate placed on the hard disks cage.

In_Win_805_interieur_arriere_cable_management

There is 2 centimeters of space between the back plate of the motherboard and the side panel, this should be enough even if you have to be careful not to make large piles of cables otherwise you will not be able to close the beast!

The configuration used during the tests is as follows:

Since the box cannot accommodate the cooler that I use for my box tests (the Noctua NH-D15), the Noctua NH-C12 SE14 will be installed and the original cooler for the graphics card will be put back in place, in this way the 805 can be compared to its big brother the 804 which was equipped with the same configuration. The In Win 805 will be tested once with the WD Raptor hard drive plugged in to see how vibrations impact noise pollution and once with only the SSD plugged in.

In_Win_805_montage_fini

The assembly inside the In Win 805 went very well, there really is no problem on the horizon. There is more than enough space to be able to handle the various elements, the space at the back of the motherboard for the cables is sufficient but you must be careful not to make any knots otherwise you will not be able to put the panel back in place. heat-tempered glass.

In_Win_805_montage_fini_allume

Once switched on, the In win 805 is a little less discreet, the fan and the logo light up in white to break up the sobriety of the whole.

In order to test the box, I will carry out an OCCT Power Supply test for 30mins and then take the temperatures of the main components such as the processor (average of the 4 cores), the motherboard, the graphics card as well as the hard drive.
Regarding noise pollution, I will proceed as in the file on silent PCs namely 1 statement in front, right, left, rear and above.

The In Win 805 will face the In Win 904 (tested here), with which it shares all the same components and cooling systems, the other boxes not being really comparable.

Rest

In_Win_805_resultats_repos_temperatures

At rest there is not much to say about temperatures, the processor stabilizes at 35 °, the motherboard at 30 ° and the graphics card at 30 ° also, the raptor meanwhile does not have any flow. direct air therefore remains at a temperature of 40 °. Compared to the In Win 904 the components are generally better cooled, thanks to the 12 cm extraction fan which blows sufficiently, let’s not forget that the original 904 does not have a fan!

In_Win_805_resultats_repos_nuisances_sonores

Ambient sound level: 31dB

The In Win 804 manages to contain the ardor of the components quite efficiently, with a maximum sound level of 38 dB at the rear without the raptor installed, which mainly comes from the original installed 12cm fan which runs at a little more than 1000 RPM. The noise generated is not aggressive, the original fan does not emit any parasitic noise (crackling, vibrations etc.) and is very pleasant to the ear even if it is not the quietest at bottom, In Win however equipped it with a 3-pin plug so it will be possible to adjust it as needed (I do not recommend doing this if no other fan is installed though).
Once the raptor is installed on the other hand, the vibrations are clearly heard, they are transmitted to the carcass and raise the sound level by around 2 dB on all measurements, however this is not really surprising in an aluminum case, so as usual you have to be careful when choosing the hard drive if the goal is to make a silent PC 🙂

In_Win_805_resultats_repos_pwm

The fans regulating themselves in relation to the temperatures of the components (PWM) run at their minimum speed here, 630 RPM for the processor fan and 1250 for the 2 fans of the graphics card.

Charge

In_Win_805_resultats_charge_temperatures

Loaded very logically with the presence of a single fan at the back, the components are not the coolest that I have seen during my case tests. With 72 ° for the processor, 81 ° for the graphics card and 35 ° for the motherboard, the components still remain at very reasonable temperatures, although it will be necessary to look elsewhere if the goal is to compete for who will cool down. the best! You should know that 72 ° for a processor and 81 ° for the graphics card even in the long term is in no way dangerous, even if a little high.

In_Win_805_resultats_charge_nuisances_sonores

Ambient sound level: 31dB

The sound level is rather contained, with a maximum of 43 dB without the raptor installed and 44 dB with it, compared to its big brother the 904 the result is still better. With the raptor installed even if the readings only go up by a single small dB the vibrations felt do not match, in fact the box to the ear is much quieter without that with.
It should not be forgotten that the noise pollution noted here comes mainly from the graphics card, given that it uses the original cooling system, it is this which covers everything else, as in 99% of “gamer” configurations. From the market (yours for example!). The tests are also done under OCCT Power Supply so all the components are pushed to their limits, the machine will make less noise during a game, everything will also depend on the coolers used.

In_Win_805_resultats_charge_pwm

No secret here, with a fan at the back, the fans for the graphics card and the processor run at a speed of 3122 and 1000 RPM respectively, quite logically between the 904 equipped with 5V and 12V fans.

In_Win_805_random

Here we are at the end of this test, what about the In Win 805 box?
As usual, In Win is all about design, materials and build quality, and there is absolutely nothing to say about it. The materials as well as the manufacturing quality are simply top of the range, nothing exceeds, everything exudes quality! The look is also very successful (a matter of taste of course), it mixes sobriety with a touch of “bling bling” thanks to its logo and the luminous fan.
In terms of performance, as we have seen, it is clearly not the best, but this is unfortunately the case for all these types of boxes, it can however adequately cool a standard “gamer” configuration which does not consume a lot, but be careful. not to use components that consume too much energy.

The only real small problem of the 805 (besides the fairly fair performance with the single 12cm fan) is the transmission of vibrations from the discs to the carcass, indeed with a raptor installed it will clearly not please the ears (but the same goes for many boxes with this little monster), so be careful to choose the hard drive, or switch to a 100% SSD system if the budget allows!

Offered at a price of around 160 € we clearly pay for the design and high-end materials, which in the end seems fair when seeing the quality of the whole, it will be perfect for a configuration with contained consumption as long as the top performance is not expected.

Advantages

  • Design
  • Build quality
  • 100% Aluminum and tempered glass
  • Front USB 3.1 Type-C

Disadvantages

  • Performance a bit tight original
  • Cooling limitation
  • Hard drive vibration

A big thank you to Katherine from In Win who allowed me to do this test.

Where to find the In Win 805?
