The AMD Radeon R9 Nano may be delayed

The launch of AMD’s latest graphics processor Fiji began in June with the worsting model Fury X. A few weeks later, the scaled-down Fury was also introduced, which is primarily intended for the partner manufacturers’ customized models. Next in line is a third variant intended for space-limited gaming computers.

Already at the gaming fair E3 in June, AMD presented the smallest Radeon R9 Nano. According to previous information, the new graphics card will go on sale in August, but despite the fact that there are only two weeks left until the end of the month, there is no information on a definitive launch date.

When SweClockers asks the question, AMD states that more information may appear later in the week, but that at the time of writing there is nothing new to add about the future of the Radeon R9 Nano.

Nor do partner manufacturers know of an imminent launch, but question whether AMD can really introduce another graphics card as there is still a shortage of the Fiji graphics processor. However, it is unclear whether the Nano will be available in anything other than AMD’s reference version.

Like the flagship Fury X, the Radeon R9 Nano contains the full-scale version of Fiji with 4,096 computing units and 4 GB of HBM memory. The graphics card measures only 6 inches or about 15.5 centimeters. Despite this, no water cooling is used but a traditional air cooler, which means that the graphics card can also be squeezed into computer systems that lack space for a radiator.
