The AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX "Rembrandt" will be the first AMD Ryzen CPU to reach 5GHz with factory frequencies

Tomorrow AMD will hold its CES 2022 press conference where it will announce its entire product line for the first half of 2022, and among the products it will announce are the new Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” APUs for laptops, whose specifications have been leaked before your advertisement.

This line will be led by the Ryzen 9 6980HX, the first AMD Ryzen to achieve a 5.0GHz single core boost thanks to the use of TSMC’s 6nm process. It will have 8 cores and 16 Zen3 + threads, an integrated RX 680M graphic with 12 Compute Units, and a TDP of 45W +.

The other two models that AMD will launch are the Ryzen 9 6900HX and the Ryzen 7 6800H, which also have 8 cores and 16 Zen 3+ threads, although they have lower frequencies, reaching 4.9GHz and 4.7GHz respectively. In addition, in the case of the Ryzen 7 6800H, it will also have an integrated smaller than the RX 680M of the Ryzen 9, whose name and specifications have not yet been confirmed although we estimate that it will have 8 or 10 Computational Units.

Unfortunately there are no “Rembrandt” models for the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 lines yet, and it is unclear if we will see additional additions in the future. At the moment, only these three models with 8 cores and 16 threads for high-performance laptops will be launched, which will be announced tomorrow and will arrive during the first quarter to laptops from Assus, Dell, HP, among others. The new Threadripper Pro 5000WX and the new Radeon RX 6500 XT will also be announced tomorrow, along with the new Radeon Super Resolution technology that will allow FSR to be used in games that do not support this technology, so we recommend you stay tuned to HD Technology to be aware so much of all the news that the reds will announce tomorrow.

What do you think about the specifications of the Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt” for laptops? Would you like to see similar desktop models?
