The deadlines for the implementation of the first phase of the Arctic LNG 2 plant have been announced

VLADIVOSTOK, 6 Sep — PRIME. The first stage of the Arctic LNG 2 plant, assembled at the Center for the Construction of Large-Tonnage Offshore Structures (TSSKMS) in Murmansk, will be towed to the Gulf of Ob in August 2023, said Evgeny Ambrosov, deputy chairman of the board of Novatek.

Novatek asked for additional resources for gas supplies to Kamchatka

“The first stage of Arctic LNG 2 will be towed to the Gulf of Ob next August. All that remains is to connect the finished plant to the coastal infrastructure,” he said at the first meeting of the Council of Members of the NSR Shipping, held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) .

TsSKMS was specially built for the construction of liquefied natural gas plants, which in the future will provide a cargo base for transportation along the Northern Sea Route, he recalled. Two dry docks of the center produce gravity-type bases (GBS), integrate LNG equipment, build large-capacity liquefaction modules and assemble at GBS.

Arctic LNG 2 is Novatek’s second large-capacity LNG project after Yamal LNG. The resource base is the Utrenneye deposit in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The project plans to build three technological lines with a capacity of 6.6 million tons each (19.8 million tons of LNG per year). The launch of the first line of Arctic LNG 2 is scheduled for 2023, the second – for 2024, the third – for 2025-2026.
