BRUSSELS, September 9 — PRIME. There is currently no need to switch from voluntary to mandatory gas savings in the European Union, said European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.
The EC noted an increase in the risk of a recession in the European Union
“Now there are no conditions for the transition to the second stage – notification of the union, which would lead to the need to achieve the mandatory goal of 15% to reduce (demand – ed.) for gas,” she said, speaking at an extraordinary meeting of relevant ministers, which was broadcast on website of the Council of the EU.
