PRAGUE, 9 you — PRIME. The EU energy ministers are ready and will certainly be able to agree on the measures necessary to overcome the current crisis during an informal meeting in Brussels on Friday, Josef Sikela, head of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, who currently chairs the EU, said before the meeting.
“Representatives of all EU countries are well aware of the responsibility that is now entrusted to them. We are all ready to do everything necessary to calm the markets, the population and businesses and develop measures that can curb the current energy crisis. These measures must be effective and quickly implemented. I hope after today’s meeting with colleagues to propose a program of these measures to the members of the European Commission, who will prepare legislative decisions on their basis, “Sikela said.
In his opinion, the EU is now in a state of economic war with Russia, which, he believes, is trying to disturb the social peace in Western countries and hinder the development of their economies.
“We cannot allow this,” the Czech minister said.
