The European Commission is aware of the incidents on the Nord Stream gas pipelines

MOSCOW, Sep 27 – PRIME. The European Commission (EC) has been informed of three leaks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, they do not affect the supply of Europe’s “blue fuel”, Tim McPhee, spokesman for the EC, said at a briefing.

The expert called the state of emergency at the Nord Streams the result of sabotage

“The EC has been informed of three mornings that were discovered on Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 — two leaks on Nord Stream 1 and one leak on Nord Stream 2. We are monitoring developments… there is no impact on Europe’s supply security at the moment because, as you know, Nord Stream 1 supplies have been at zero levels for several weeks, and Nord Stream 2 is not authorized at the moment,” he said.

The European Commission will also study the possible consequences of leaks at Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 for shipping and the environmental situation.

“We are monitoring whether there are implications for the release of methane, which affects climate change and air pollution, and are also in contact with Member States on the implications for maritime shipping,” McPhee said.
