The expert explained whether the smartphone can lose charge due to the second SIM-card

MOSCOW, 15 Sep — PRIME. There is an opinion that a smartphone consumes more battery power while working with two SIM-cards – but this is a myth, Grigory Lysenko, an expert at the telecommunications company Yota, said on Sputnik radio.

According to him, this problem was relevant for older smartphones, while modern technologies can avoid this.

In older smartphones, two SIM cards worked thanks to two radio modules, but now this technology is no longer used.

As the expert said, first there was a technology that allowed you to put two SIM-cards in one phone, and then manually choose which one will work at the moment. Then a technology appeared that, due to two radio modules, allowed two SIM cards to work simultaneously. “Due to this, phones have become more expensive and the battery power has been consumed a little more. Currently, smartphones with one radio module and two SIM cards are used. This is convenient, this is practical,” Lysenko explained.
