Germany predicted hundreds of deaths and chaos during blackouts

MOSCOW, 15 Sep — PRIME. In the event of a complete power outage in a single area of ​​Germany, over 400 dead, a wave of robberies and chaos can be expected within the first 96 hours, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes.

Such an option was predicted in the Rheingau-Taunus region in the federal state of Hesse. According to forecasts, two hours after the blackout, most burglar and fire alarms will stop working, and after eight hours, emergency communications will be turned off.

In another 24 hours, the first treatment facilities will stop working, and shortly before that, a massive loss of livestock will begin.

If there is no energy for four or more days, then robberies and fires will begin in the area, the total damage from which will amount to almost 200 million euros.

Landline phones will stop working, the Internet, mobile communications and digital radio will be turned off. The gas station will run out of gasoline, it will be impossible to make electronic payments.
