The Geforce GTX 660 Ti will be released in the third week of August

Although more than a quarter has passed since Nvidia introduced the first graphics cards in generation 28 nanometers, there are still no middle classes with the Kepler architecture, apart from a few scaled-down models primarily intended for OEMs. Instead, more price-sensitive consumers will have to make do with older graphics cards from the 500 series.

In August, however, there will be a change in that part. According to a planning document that SweClockers has read, a new model is lurking on the horizon. The graphics card in question is nothing less than the Geforce GTX 660 Ti, the spiritual successor to the bestsellers in today’s GTX 560 series.

According to Nvidia’s plans, the Geforce GTX 660 Ti will be introduced in the middle of next month, ie sometime between 13 and 19 August. It is just in time for the important start of school, when students graduate for the coming autumn term.

Rumors circulating online indicate that the graphics card, contrary to previous data, is not based on a new graphics processor. Instead, a scaled-down variant of the GK104 with 1,344 CUDA cores and 1.5 GB of GDDR5 memory returns – not unlike the Geforce GTX 670.

The price is expected to end up around 299 USD or a bit below SEK 3,000 including VAT.
