The Geforce GTX Titan Z will be released on May 8

At the GTC developer conference, Nvidia announced the highly expensive graphics card Geforce GTX Titan Z. According to the original plan, the model would reach retailers on April 29, but just a few days before that, Nvidia decided to postpone the launch to the future. Maybe to squeeze more performance to meet the competitor Radeon R9 295X2.

Now German Computerbase reports that the graphics card is only delayed by a little over a week; on May 8, those who have SEK 30,000 in their pockets will be able to buy the new Geforce Titan Z. At the same time, the intended specifications will be leaked online.

According to the promise, the Geforce GTX Titan Z contains two GK110 graphics processors with a total of 5,760 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR5 memory on two 384-bit memory buses. The clock frequencies amount to 705 and 876 MHz at base respective boost, which for example can be compared to Titan Black with the same graphics processor in 889 and 980 MHz. The memory frequency remains at 7.0 GHz.

For the power supply, two 8-pin PCI Express connectors are used for a maximum socket of 375 W. Like the competitor AMD, Nvidia thus chooses to release a new graphics card that may well be thirstier than the standard allows. By comparison, the Radeon R9 295X2 can charge as much as 500 W.
