MOSCOW, September 9 — PRIME. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto said that the EU’s proposed price cap for Russian gas would lead to an immediate cessation of its supplies to Europe, Reuters reports.
Italian Foreign Minister called the “fair” cost of gas
According to Szijjarto, this proposal is contrary to the interests of Hungary and Europe.
Earlier, a source in the EU told reporters that the majority of EU states are now unlikely to support the idea of setting a price limit on Russian gas imports. On Friday, an extraordinary council of EU energy ministers will be held, where, as expected, the issue of limiting prices for Russian pipeline gas will be discussed.
