After seeing the excellent performance of the Core i5-12400, the first tests of the upcoming Core i7-12700 were also leaked, which will offer great performance both single-core and multi-core, where it practically matches the Ryzen 9 5900X at a price much less.
The tests in this case were carried out on Geekbench, and they confirm that the Core i7-12700 will have 8 high-performance cores plus four high-efficiency cores just like the i7-12700K, adding a total of 12 cores and 20 threads. Putting it to the test together with the Z690 Taichi and 32GB of DDR5 memory, it achieved a score of 1768 in the single-core test and 13843 in the multi-core test. For comparison, the Ryzen 9 5900X scores 1670 and 14100 points in these tests, so this new Intel processor will far outperform it in terms of price-performance.
According to the first listings in stores, the Core i7-12700 will cost about US $ 380, while the Ryzen 9 5900X costs US $ 550, with a large price difference and an almost imperceptible difference in performance.
The Core i7-12700 is expected to launch alongside the rest of Alder Lake’s “No-K” lineup between late January and early February, so it is yet to be seen on the market. We will keep you updated on the news, so stay tuned to HD Tecnología.
