MSI together with the Japanese overclocker Shimizu, managed to put a Intel Core i9-12900KS a 7,5 GHzbreaking a record with that CPU.
During the live delivery on April 6, OCer Takahiro Shimizu set a world record for the operating frequency of the Core i9-12900KS! We will hold a commemorative campaign promised during delivery!

The Intel processor was paired with an MSI MEG Z690 Unify-X motherboard, a high-end model when it comes to Z690 motherboards. The frequency was 7503 MHz, this being possible with the multiplier at x74 and the speed at 101.39 MHz. Extreme overclocking of the Intel Core i9-12900KS was done on two cores with a voltage of 1.74 V.
For this Type of Overclock Liquid Nitrogen is used to cool the CPU to – 150 degrees and more
The previous record had been made on the same motherboard, but by Taiwanese overclocker TSAIK, also from MSI. In this case, the overclock was slightly below the new record (7.45 GHz), but only by one core and 1769 V, which makes the new value with less voltage and more cores more impressive.
The Intel Core i9-12900KS is the best solution when it comes to 12th Gen Intel processors, slightly better than the base i9-12900K, with slightly more speed, 200Mhz and 100Mhz in the cores base frequency performance and efficiency, respectively, plus a 5.5 GHz boost on a single core, up 300 MHz compared to the base model.
