MOSCOW, 12 Oct — PRIME. An increased income tax rate for LNG producers could reach 32-34%, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Sazanov told reporters.

The Ministry of Finance spoke about the “unacceptable” practice of oil exporters
“There will be an increased income tax rate from 32% to 34%,” Sazanov answered the question of what additional exemptions for LNG would be included in the budget.
He also clarified that an additional term in the formula for calculating the MET for coal is introduced for the first three months of 2023, then the formula will return to the previous level.
Earlier, in the draft federal law on amendments to the tax code, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to increase the income tax for exporters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2023-2025 to 32%, estimated additional income in 2023 at 200 billion rubles.
