MOSCOW, 5 Oct – PRIME. Moscow insists on the need for an international investigation into emergency incidents on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said.

Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev

Patrushev warned about the consequences of the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream

“Of course, with the participation of Russia. It is important to involve Germany in this investigation,” he stressed during a press conference.

The general opinion about the sabotage that took place and the need for an investigation has already been voiced, but there have been no concrete decisions yet, the deputy minister noted.

“We support this, there should be a real investigation,” Vershinin added.

In the US, they pointed to the perpetrator of the explosions at Nord Stream

A gas leak on the strings of the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 was discovered on September 26 in the Baltic Sea. According to Swedish seismologists, powerful underwater explosions were recorded in the emergency area the day before. Germany, Denmark and Sweden did not rule out that the incidents could have been the result of targeted sabotage.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation initiated the initiation of a case on an act of international terrorism.
