This year has had a promising start for cryptocurrencies, with the BTC price rising from about $ 7,000 to over $ 10,000 this month.

Higher prices restore interest in the crypto space, and specialized companies offer simple methods of accessing this market. Bitcoin ATMs are an affordable way to purchase cryptocurrencies, as they are similar to traditional financial services.

Google Trends statistics reveal that questions about this type of service have doubled compared to last year. The maximum values of the period were observed in June 2019, when BTC reached almost $ 13,000 and in the first half of January, when the current bull market began.

The number of newly installed ATMs has continued to grow steadily this year. The CoinATMradar report from January 2020 shows that at the beginning of the month, there were 6,377 such devices worldwide. Currently, the figure rises to 6838.

Most of the new cars were installed by already existing companies. Genesis Coin is the expansion leader with 146 new ATMs (7% growth), followed by General Bytes with 62 (3%) and Coinsource with 40 installations (up 11.7%).

Other operators that have expanded are Coinflip with 36 ATMs, Bitcoin Depot with 34, and ATM Coiners ranks third with 33.

In January, the United States registered the highest number of new BATMs – 325 new machines were installed throughout the country (an increase of 7.7%). Canada and the UK only recorded 5 and 2 recently added locations.

In Romania, according to CoinATMradar there are 43 Bitcoin ATMs, of which 14 in Bucharest.
