MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. The number of active oil and gas drilling rigs in the United States rose during the reporting week for the first time in three weeks. Relatively high oil prices have prompted some companies to increase production. This was reported by Reuters on Friday, citing data from oilfield services company Baker Hughes.
The expert told what will happen to oil prices next week
According to the information, the number of operating oil and gas drilling rigs, a leading indicator of production, increased by 4 units in the week of September 10-16, to 763 units. This is the highest rate since August.
The number of drilling rigs is 251 units or 49% higher than in the same period last year.
The number of oil drilling rigs in the reporting week increased by 8 units, up to 599 units. The number of gas drilling rigs decreased by 4 units to 162 units.
In August, the number of oil and gas drilling rigs declined after rising for 24 months.
