We are less than two weeks away from the official launch of the CPU AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, with the new 3D cache technology, with a total of 96 MB. Although we do not know the actual performance of the processor officially, some leaks give us an idea. Now, however, our friends from Xanxo Gaming They have published some benchmarks using the new AMD CPU, and the results are not impressive as thought or as AMD itself proposed.

All tests performed by the site are synthetic benchmarks and it seems that the differential of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, with 3D V-Cache technology, does not make much difference compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X model, it even seems to perform less.

On a single core, AMD’s new CPU scored 1493, just below the base model’s 1505 and the Core i7 12700k gives us a total of 1917 points. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D also falls short in multi-core with 15060 points compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X which delivers 15308, and the Core i7 12700k gives no less than 22701 points…

As in the previous benchmark, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is inferior in both multi-core at 10498 points and single-core at 1639 points, compared to 11742 and 1720 points for the Ryzen 7 5800X respectively.

Again, the CPU with 3D V-Cache makes no difference. In single core, the new CPU scored 617 and 6505 in multicore, as opposed to 666 and 6982 points in the base SKU.

In this test, where less is more, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D trails slightly behind the Ryzen 7 5800X by 20 points.

For now the Xanxo Gaming website did not test with games and this is where AMD has done the most hype. According to the company, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is “the world’s fastest gaming desktop processor.” Well OK…

The Ryzen 7 5800x3D will have similar configurations to the base processor, with 8 cores and 16 threads, same TDP of 105 W, slightly lower clocks, with a base of 3.4 GHz / boost 4.5 GHz), with the difference that it has 96 MB of V -Cache, something that makes the CPU, on average, 15% better in games compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X, according to AMD itself.
