The sentence for the co-founder of the OneCoin scam was postponed for another three months, at the request of prosecutors. On April 7, the New York court approved a motion to postpone the sentencing hearing for Konstantin Ignatov on July 8, 2020. He is the brother and accomplice of Ruja Ignatova, known as “Cryptoqueen.”
Ignatov was arrested in March 2019 and pleaded guilty to several billion dollars worth of fraud. He is liable to up to 90 years in prison, even though he cooperated with authorities in the trial against Mark Scott. Scott is a lawyer accused of helping to steal nearly $ 400 million from the OneCoin scam.
Authorities have not yet been able to find and arrest Ruja Ignatova.
