TikTok faces a fine of up to four million rubles
MOSCOW, 30 Aug — PRIME. The company that owns the popular social network TikTok faces a fine of up to 4 million rubles for refusing to remove “propaganda of LGBT and feminism,” a RIA Novosti correspondent reports from the court district of the justice of the peace in the Tagansky district of Moscow.
“Based on three decisions of Rosmolodezh, Roskomnadzor drew up a protocol for promoting non-traditional LGBT values, feminism and a distorted representation of traditional sexual values,” Judge Timur Vakhrameev read out the materials.
The protocol was drawn up in accordance with part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Failure of the owner of the site to delete … information if the obligation to delete such information, the Internet page is provided for by law.” The maximum penalty for legal entities is a fine of 4 million rubles.
Consideration will continue at 10.15 am on 4 October.
