Buses in London

FT: Bus fares could rise significantly in Britain

“No matter what happens, we have to keep the heat in the schools. We can’t let the students get cold. Maybe we can turn it down a degree or two and ask everyone to wear sweaters. Schools can ask the kids to bring their own sweaters, but we have a lot of students from poor socio-economic groups. Therefore, we will have to provide (them – ed.) sweaters, ”the newspaper quotes the words of Steve Chalk, the manager of the Oasis Academies schools.

The publication also quotes a UK government official as saying authorities are aware of rising energy costs and will increase core school funding by £4bn ($4.7bn) in 2022-23, up from 7bn in 2021-2022. % in monetary terms per student.

Thus, the maximum bill for the British could be 1578 pounds (80%) more. The previous energy price threshold was £1,971. The head of the energy regulator, Jonathan Brearley, warned that energy prices are likely to continue to rise, and called on the country’s future prime minister to take new measures to combat rising prices.
