Ukraine wants to offer its electricity to Europe instead of Russian

ROME, Sep 2 – PRIME. Ukraine is ready to increase electricity exports to Europe, replacing Russian supplies, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The IAEA mission will remain at the ZNPP on a permanent basis, the diplomat said

“Our energy exports could reduce Moscow’s pressure on Europe and Italy: despite all the difficulties, we can help ensure at least 8% of electricity consumption in Italy,” he said during his online speech at the economic forum in Cernobbio, Italy.

At the same time, in order to increase supplies, it is necessary that the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) remain connected to the Ukrainian network, the politician emphasized. According to Zelensky, the presence of Russia “prevents” Ukraine from helping to resolve the energy crisis in Europe.

ZNPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, located on the left bank of the Dnieper near Energodar. Since March this year, the facility has been guarded by the Russian military.
