The Uruguay Digital Party has announced a collaboration with the ityternity project, which is developing a blockchain protocol for creating decentralized applications and scalable smart contracts.
Digital Party will use the ityternity app for internal voting. Æternity solution will ensure election transparency. For this, the project works in two directions:
- Develops a decentralized voting app Governance Aepp;
- creates a solution for the verification and secure storage of personal data.
Citizens will be able to vote and directly propose ideas. The æternity app will allow you to check the results of voting without revealing the identity and choice of participants.
“The Digital Party Solution is based on the дляternity – Governance Aepp internal voting app. Thanks to the application, citizens will be able to participate more actively in political life at all levels, ”said Pablo Corolo, CEO of æternity Americas.
Governternity members are currently testing the Governance Aepp app. The application will be transferred to the main network as part of the planned Lima hard fork.
According to members of the Digital Party, the blockchain will allow citizens of Uruguay to participate more actively in the country’s political life.
“We want to put technology at the service of citizens. Blockchain is perfect for this. It will ensure citizen participation in the elections and transparency of the voting process, ”Justin Graceid, a candidate for the House of Representatives, commented on.
Uruguay Digital Party was founded in 2013. Party members want to bring technology to the political sphere of the country. The party will participate in the upcoming elections in Uruguay: nationwide in October 2019 and departmental in 2020.
æternity is a blockchain platform for creating decentralized applications and scalable smart contracts. The project aims to solve the problems of scaling and interaction of the blockchain with the outside world. To do this, æternity uses p2p state channels and the Oracle system.
In ityternity, operations between the parties are processed in a separate channel, and the main blockchain acts as a data archive, which the parties refer to in case of disagreement. Smart contracts interact with the real world using oracles – special nodes that receive and verify information from outside the blockchain.
