US says it needs to revise relations with Saudi Arabia
WASHINGTON, Oct 11 – PRIME The US believes it is necessary to reassess relations with Saudi Arabia, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council.
US Congress proposes to suspend arms sales to Saudi Arabia
“The President has made it clear that we must continue to reassess this relationship,” Kirby told CNN.
He noted that a reassessment is needed, in particular, in the light of the OPEC + decision to reduce oil production. Kirby said US leader Joe Biden is willing to work with Congress on how relations with Saudi Arabia should be. “I don’t have anything to announce to date, but the president has obviously been disappointed with OPEC’s decision and is willing to work with Congress on what we think the relationship should be like,” Kirby said.
