Uzbekistan intends to create production of chips and diodes

MOSCOW, August 26 – PRIME. The Uzbek authorities expect to establish in the country, together with Belarusian companies, the production of microchips, diodes and cable and wire products, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) said on Friday.

According to the press service, in Minsk, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodzhaev and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik discussed issues of current bilateral cooperation.

“The possibility of implementing new projects was discussed, including the joint production of cable and wire products in the Tashkent region with the Energokomplekt company, the production of diodes and the exchange of experience in this area with the Plonar company, as well as the organization of the production of microelectronics and microchips with the Integral company,” the message on the MIFT website says.

The possibilities of organizing joint production of special mining and agricultural equipment in Uzbekistan were considered, the ministry noted. In particular, an agreement was reached to speed up the negotiation process and approve a detailed “road map” for the implementation of the project.

“During the negotiations, the potential for cooperation in the furniture industry was named as special. The parties agreed to explore the possibilities of cooperation and, based on a detailed analysis, develop specific joint investment projects,” the MIFT added.
