Who does not die sees again: the GeForce GT 1010, based on Pascal GPU, peeps out in Asia

A little over a year ago we reported that NVIDIA had introduced a new very low-end video card, useful for guaranteeing some basic functions (such as displaying the screen) and little else: we are talking about the GeForce GT 1010, a GPU-based video card GP108 Pascal era, younger sister of the GT 1030 introduced in May 2017.

Nothing more was known about that solution for a whole year, but in the past few hours they have leaked some photos from Asia (from the Taobao store) of two models, one branded Lenovo and the other LeadTek. The list price, according to what is learned, would be approximately 70 dollars.

In terms of technical specifications, the GT 1010 is based on the GP108 GPU found on the GT 1030, but with even fewer active cores: 256 units against 384. The graphics chip (which operates at 1228 – 1468 MHz) is flanked by 2 GB of GDDR5 memory on 64-bit bus and has a TDP of 30W – consequently it does not need any auxiliary PCIe connector for operation.

Tested with 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, the card scored 153 points, a far cry from what might be considered an adequate score for a gaming card, which means that it merely complements a CPU with no integrated graphics to display one or more screens or handle light graphics load.
