With a new BIOS for extreme overclocking the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti has been unlocked up to 890W

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti it is the most powerful high-end GPU on the market, right now. The GPU running at 450W out of the box has been unlocked to run at an incredible 890W. Twitter user MEGAsizeGPU posted a screenshot of GPU-Z revealing the exploit.

The RTX 3090 Ti used was from Asus and a special BIOS for extreme overclocking is needed to unlock this TDP. The BIOS used in this situation is the same BIOS used in record-breaking competitions using liquid nitrogen.

Despite being unlocked at 890W via BIOS, MEGAsizeGPU managed to push its RTX 3090 Ti to 945W when running the FurMark benchmark. In this situation, the GPU reached an incredible 822W, the rest is the sum of all the components on the motherboard. The cardholder says his source is a Seasonic Prime GX1300, less bad.

Most RTX 3090 Tis come with a 16-pin connector that provides a maximum of 600W, according to official specifications. Nevertheless, models like the EVGA Kingpin have two of these connectors, further pushing the limits for extreme overclocking.

In theory, cards with two 16-pin connectors would provide much more than the 945W consumed, since on paper, two of these connectors together deliver 1200W. Some RTX 3090 Ti models go beyond the standard 450W, reaching 528W in the case of the RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition.
