MOSCOW, 29 Sep — PRIME. The radioactive background at the ZNPP after the fall of the Ukrainian drone is normal, said the head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Yevhen Balitsky.
The head of the IAEA discussed with the head of the US Department of Energy the protective zone around the ZNPP
“The radioactive background at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is normal,” he said on the air of Russia 24.
Earlier, Balitsky reported that a Ukrainian drone was dropped on the territory of the station, but the reactor was not damaged, there is no threat to nuclear safety. According to him, the power of the drone was not enough to cause serious damage.
The head of the Energodar administration, Alexander Volga, in turn, noted that only a short circuit and slight smoke had occurred at the ZNPP. The situation has already been eliminated, everything is working normally, he stressed.
Volga added that there was no question of criticality, since “the second power unit was completely siled up and stopped last year.”
