Ambassador to the United States called a simple way to solve Europe’s energy problems
WASHINGTON, Sep 14 – PRIME Russia proceeds from the fact that solving Europe’s problems in the energy sector is not difficult, for this it is enough just to “press a button” and launch the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Solving Europe’s energy problems is extremely easy. You just need to press a button and launch Nord Stream 2,” Antonov said.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission also rejected accusations against Russia that it allegedly acts as the root cause of the crisis in the economy of both European countries and overseas. As the Russian ambassador noted, such statements are “the highest hypocrisy.”
“Whether it’s energy, with sky-high prices for consumers for electricity, gas, gasoline or the food sector. Wouldn’t it be better to give at least some of the funds and resources that have flown down the pipe to the poorest countries in Latin America, Africa or Asia?” asked the Russian diplomat.
