Emir of Qatar called for caution in sanctions against Russian resources

DOHA, Sep 14 – PRIME. Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani believes that Western countries should not indiscriminately impose sanctions in the energy sector against Russia, as they complicate the situation for the whole world.

“We must be careful about the imposition of sanctions that complicate the situation for the whole world … We all see the problems caused by the lack of energy supplies on the European continent today. We are all suffering from the status quo that has developed in the energy and food sectors,” Al said. Tanya in an interview with the French magazine Le Point.

He also noted that Qatar, which occupies the third place in the world in natural gas production, will not be able to completely replace Russian gas in the European market.

“We want to help European countries and will supply them with gas in the coming years, but those who think that we can replace Russian gas are mistaken, because this is an important source in the world market,” the Qatari ruler said.

According to him, the conflict in Europe has unprecedentedly complicated the situation with energy supplies, but the problem existed even before that.
