AMD is working on new graphics cards based on Vega 11

After falling behind in the graphics card market for a long time, AMD launched its new graphics architecture Vega earlier this year. Initially, two models were introduced – Radeon RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64 – which go up against Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1070 and Geforce GTX 1080.

The circuit on which the two models are based is called Vega 10 and now Tweaktown reports that this will in future be followed up by Vega 11. It is stated that there are a total of 13 models based on the new circuit, which will replace today’s Radeon Radeon RX 400 and RX 500 series.

According to the information, AMD will use the same naming scheme as for current models, where the names are based on the number of calculation units. There is talk, among other things, of a Radeon RX Vega 32 and RX Vega 28 with 32 and 28 of them, respectively.

There are also expected to be several different Vega 11 circuits, where the Vega 11 XT gets 2,048 stream processors and 4 GB of HBM2 memory on a 1,024-bit memory bus. For the Vega 11 Pro, the number of stream processors is reduced to 1,792, while the amount of memory and the memory bus are the same.

Some further details about launch and price are not yet known, but Radeon RX Vega 32 and RX Vega 28 are expected to compete with Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1060.
