AMD Radeon HD 7970 – Test

The battle between AMD and Nvidia is escalating to a generation of 28 nanometers. AMD first has time for the Radeon HD 7970 and the full-featured graphics processor Tahiti XT with the brand new architecture Graphics Core Next (GCN).

In order not to let the competitor get any clues, AMD has in recent months fixed and tricked by sending out everything from misleading specifications to false launch dates, which were later pushed back and forth to finally land on December 22 – but only on paper.

The Radeon HD 7970 will not go on sale until January, but fortunately SweClockers is one of only two media in the Nordic region that has come across a copy of the coveted graphics card. Enough about that, because now it’s time to publish the results.
