Already at the launch of the Radeon R9 290X, there were rumors of a new flagship with dual graphics processors Hawaii XT. However, it quickly became clear that the circuit’s high power consumption and heat generation would make such a graphics card something of a challenge for AMD to develop.
For the sixth generation in a row, AMD is now developing a graphics card with dual circuits, which together with a substantial memory buffer should be particularly suitable for gaming with multiple screens and 4K resolution. The high performance comes with a specified power consumption of a record high 500 watts, something AMD hopes to be able to curb with a customized water cooler from Asetek.
It’s now time for SweClocker’s test lab to take a closer look at AMD’s most expensive graphics card ever – the Radeon R9 295X2.
