AMD Vega will be unveiled at CES 2017

Nvidia has recently lacked competition in the performance segment for graphics cards, with the Geforce GTX 1070, 1080 and Titan X. This looks like this may change in the future, as AMD is expected to launch its new graphics architecture Vega, which according to previous information will be able to compete with Nvidia’s Pascal.

AMD now confirms via a new website that the graphics architecture Vega will be shown during the hardware fair CES 2017. In addition to a short video, there is also a countdown timer on the side, the end of which coincides with the fair starting.

So far, the details about Vega are few, but previous information suggests that the graphics cards will have a memory amount of 8 GB with the memory technology HBM2. This is believed to be accompanied by 4096 stream processors and a clock frequency of over 1,500 MHz, which is slightly lower than Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1080.
