New information about AMD’s graphics architecture Vega is leaking on the web

The upcoming graphics architecture from AMD will be named Vega and is expected to be the company’s return to the enthusiast market for graphics cards. Very little is known about Vega yet, but according to previous information, it should be able to stand alongside and in some cases perform better than Nvidia’s graphics card based on the architecture Pascal.

Earlier this week, AMD published a new website dedicated to Vega, along with a countdown to CES 2017 where the new graphics cards will be shown. Now, however, users of 3DCenter’s forum have anticipated the events and dug up an image on the website with new information about Vega.

The picture confirms, among other things, previous information that the name of the architecture will be Vega NCU, which stands for Next Compute Unit and becomes the sequel to GCN. In addition, support for virtual memory up to 512 TB, four times as high power efficiency and doubled performance regardless of clock speed are also mentioned.

Vega does not yet have a fixed launch date, but is planned to be shown during CES 2017 and then released sometime during the first half of the year.
