Yesterday we reported leaked information about a new version of AMD’s graphics card Radeon RX 6900 XT, where this was to be endowed with a closed water cooling solution and increased clock frequencies. The information turned out to be correct, as the company now officially launches the graphics card together with a handful of selected system builders.

As expected, the name of the new graphics card will be Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled, where the model shares many specifications with its air-cooled sibling. This means the full-featured version of the graphics circuit Navi 21 with 80 calculation units. Thanks to the blown-up cooling solution, however, the newcomer has had clock speeds increased, where the turbo frequency for the graphics circuit is specified at 2,424 MHz – up almost 8 percent compared to the air-cooled ditto.
On the memory front, 16 GB GDDR6 is visible again, but at a higher speed of 18,000 MHz. This gives a theoretical memory bandwidth of 576 GB / s, which corresponds to an increase of about 13 percent compared to the basic model of Radeon RX 6900 XT. The increased clock frequencies on the graphics circuit and the increased memory speed are also accompanied by a higher current budget of 330 W, ie 30 W more than the air-cooled version.
The Radeon RX 6900 XT Liquid Cooled does not receive a recommended price as it is only sold as part of prefabricated computers via system builders. AMD has selected a number of partners for the purpose, including American Maingear and British PCSpecialist. In Sweden, Inet is the exclusive reseller as part of the company’s PC series “Concept”, where deliveries look set to start at the end of June.
